The Fuchsia
Fleece,
established in 1995, is located on an 1850's farm in the Shenandoah Valley
of Virginia. We are dedicated to the production of fine fiber from our own
Alpacas and Angora Rabbits and the creative use of that and other
prized fibers.
Our current Alpaca herd of
45 contains both Suris and Huacayas and is growing. We are breeding for
conformation, color and fineness of fiber. Our herd is small, so
we can place our main emphasis on quality selective breeding and fiber
processing, followed by the production of this excellent fiber into custom
products.
Our Alpaca and Angora rabbit
fiber is presently available in many natural colors
either as raw fiber, batts, roving, yarn or custom finished products.
Custom fiber processing, knitting and weaving services are available in our
own facility.
We can also tempt you with spinning, weaving and knitting books.

The Farm in 1870
The Fuchsia Fleece is located on an 166 acre antebellum farm
just a short distance west of route I-81, midway between Lexington and
Staunton. We are about a two-hour ride from the Richmond, Washington areas
and an hour from Charlottesville, Roanoke and southwest Virginia.

Come and spend a pleasant time in the country enjoying our resident Alpacas,
Angora rabbits, Guard Llamas, domestic geese and migratory ducks, geese, and
herons while stepping back into an unrushed time but with an opportunity to
learn more about Alpacas, farming and the positives of a huggable investment
lifestyle.
Come
see us soon.
